I thought it would be a nice easy plug and play situation. Just plug the 3.5m headphone to RCA adapter between the Ipod and the Aux in on my stereo. No the sound quality is crap and for some reason i can arrange it so I am recieving two AM radio channels at once under the Ipods audio.tried with two different stereos. Any help here would be appreciated!

What?

Either you have a dud cable, dud receiver, or dud iPod.

3.5mm -> Dual RCA. Play MP3.

Are you listening to 64kb/s MP3 files?

What the fuck does AM radio have to do with this?

I changed cable. Still picked up AM radio.
I changed HiFi unit still the same problem.

Managed to figure out the radio is only coming through when plug isnt seated properly (IE not conected properly) but the sound is still dodgy. I think the files are 128kb/s!

AM Radio... fillings in your teeth?

Files bit encoding... go to the properties sheet of the file (ie right click) then go to the right hand tab.

That could be taken out of context.

Man i LOVE when this shit happens.

We had a powered set of speakers at highschool.

if you unplgged the audio cable, and held the tip against the filing cabinet key-hole it would pick up a VERY clear 693 4KQ AM radio. Which woudl lead to rock-and-roll in class, lol.

so you know whats happening. your picking up am radio, this shit happens. how to stop it? get shielded cable? get a piece of sheet metal and find from which side of the hifi the station seems to be coming from, sacrifice The Fuzz to the pagan god Transmitoriton, master of all AM transmitions.

pick your favorite.

How long is the rca cable you're using. It's probably acting as an aerial. Use a better quality,shorter cable otherwise your only other option is probably setting up a balanced line to cancel the signal... You might be able to use an inductor or capacitor to cancel the signal you are receiving but i got no idea how to do that... Google it...

Use a dock so that your stereo is getting line-level audio rather than pre-amplified audio otherwise the quality will be shit
