Help with choice of PDA

I am after a PDA (smart phone not needed but if around same price and has same functions would consider).
There are only 2 things that I need it for right now:
1. Wireless access to emails (Outlook style not like gmail)
2. word/excel edit program.
I just wish to place all my pass words and setup instructions for my client’s internet and networks, so that I can access these from anywhere and solve most problems over the phone (main reason why I do not need a smart phone).

Price wise I am thinking between $400-$600

However I really have no understanding of these products, as I have never used or owned one.

Ahh, I take it these are a dying breed... I know that they are getting integrated into phones but surely they still have a use as a stand along unit?

I have been using my Nokia 6120 classic, however it does not show enough of the spread sheet to really be of any use to me, and it is no good when I need to look at it and be on the phone at the same time.

Any one know anything about these?

Maybe a small laptop would be more suited?

I don't know much about PDAs these days unfortunately.

What about a second hand dopod 838pro? Can be had for around $300-400 off ebay and can do everything you want plus more (it is a phone as well).

I have an ipaq rz3710. I use it to send and receive emails as well as jump on the Internet. Great piece of gear and they can be had for around $150 secondhand.

Hope this helps?

Cheers
