Hi,

My friend wants to get a new desktop, he has a budget of $1000.

This needs to include everything except the OS and screen.

Can you please help me out because i have no idea where to start?

Cheers
Mac.

CPU: Intel E8400 - $199
Mobo: G-B EP45-DS3 - $139
Case & PSU: Antec NSK6580 - $135
HDD: WD SATAII 640GB - $92
GFX: MSI 8800GT - $175
RAM: 4G Kit-800(2x2G) A-data - $87
ODD: Pioneer SATA - $29
Keyboard + Mouse: MS Retail Business Hardware Desktop Black - $35
Speakers: Logitech Z4 - $89

Total $980 from MSY

This system does have a lot to build up on, like better graphics card, and later maybe new case, and whatever, but this will get him a pretty awesome little rig that'll last years to come!

My take on SceptreCore's build which is good but, I squeezed in an overclocked GFX card and a better mouse.

third revision of the above builds to squeeze in a much better gpu if you like gaming

G-B EP45-DS3L $129
XpertVision ATI HD4850 Sonic PCI-E 2.0 512MB 256-bit GDDR3, 685/2000MHz $220.00

$1026 with better mouse or $993 with the cheap one + a bit more post to get the card from centrecom not that any of this matters much if you cant get to msy

You can get a XFX 8800GT XXX Edition fro scoprtech from 170, and in alot of reviews it is said to perform as well as the 8800GTS.

or maybe find the cheapest 4850 you can. lol.
