G7 supply dries up.

the greatest mouse of all time has been discontinued by Logitech...

D:

mine is 2.5 years old, vintage green and grey G7 and its getting a bit scratched on the bottom, the paint is worn and its generally shabby and time for replacement. but where can i get another G7?

everywhere in QLD is out of stock and by some great oversight by logitech, there is no direct replacement product on the line up.
G9? pfft, cables!
MX rev? no! its an odd shape and doesnt have gaming performance.
Habu? pfft, more cords!

if you have a new G7 on the shelf near you, hear this, i will pay good money for your plastic wrapped mouse.

Are Logitech selling a replacement model or the G7 will be last of it's kind?

Try these places:
http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/search.cgi?q=logitech+G7
http://www.shopbot.com.au/default.asp?kw=logitech+G7&position=search

If nowhere in either links have them, then it would appear that you'll have to look into overseas stores, perhaps Amazon.

I'll keep an eye out if I go up to the local shopping center, there's a shop that ~might~ still have it.

My mate went to Canada, and got it at a bargain price. Im really mad coz he went and got the same mouse as me. Especially because it is one of my most awesome PC possesions.

Anyway, yes it is the best wireless mousse you can buy. And I hope the successor of it, will go above and beyond the awesomeness of the G7

Cords are for real men.
Seriously, unless you're using a HTPC I can't see why you'd want a wireless mouse :|
Costs more, performs worse.
The only benefit is the no wires, but they're a massive non issue if you have decent cable management.

No Dave, You Are Mistaken!!!

The G7 performs just as good if not better than a corded mouse. (I believe better) Seriously I got sick of the cord falling down behind the desk, getting tangled with the other cords, trying to pull the mouse upto free the cord whilst playing an FPS, or multiplayer shoot'em up game.

Nuh ah, cords aren't for real men. They are for trundling bumbling Neanderthals... so which of these are you? :P

A real man who likes mice that don't run out of batteries and which are light and easy to move =P~
I had a decent wireless mouse, I know have one that costs less than it and performs so much better than it - and the wires never get in the way because I spent 30 seconds moving the wire around my monitor :O

With the G7, one never runs out of battery power, as all one has to do is take the battery out of the mouse, and plug in the one that has finished charging in the wireless station. then chuck it in the mouse, and put the low power one in the receiver.... too easy.

And you will feel so liberated not to have that annoying pull anymore. :)

I don't have to pull!
And you still have to stop using it for a minute while you dick around with batteries!

More like 5 seconds actually... If you had one Im sure you would understand, but you don't... so you cannot say that the G7 is not better than a corded mouse, so be a good sport and buy one.

I have four mice, each does their own thing.
RaZer Lachesis
Logitech G7
Microsoft WMO 1.1
RaZer pro|click Mobile (bluetooth)

Each one does its thing very well... "there is no best mouse"

Tried a G7, and a MX Revolution, and a MX1000.

Anyone who says these wireless mice proform just as good in game as a wired mouse need to have their head checked. They are good for desktop use, and thats about it.

Currently use a Deathaddar for normal everyday desktop use, and a Microsoft WMO1.1 for gaming, and get past the "cable tangle" by bluetacking the mousecord to just above my mousepad.

I've been using the mouse from my Logitech MX5000 combo and as much as I hate the keyboard (worst ever made in my opinion). The mouse has never been a problem

You probably just have a crap system... and yes, the G7 performs just as good in games as wired mice.

yeah when the G7 first came out pretty much every review i read showed that the reviewer did not experience any lag. i love mine to bits and seriously hate using wired mice these days.

i'm not a pro FPS player but alot of people i play with would comment how quick my reactions were and i put a good chunk of that down to the mouse it's fast and very accurate.

my brother has G9 and i hate it, not just for the feel of it but also for the cord, its no good.

everyone has their own personal play style though and to me i've never experienced any sort of lag using the G7, the reciever is not very far either, probably about a 30cm-40cm distance

How does the system you use affect the proformance of the mouse?
How the mouse proforms comes down to how you play and sensitivities you use.

For me, and most people i know, wireless mice suck due to the lag thats there with LONG swipes.
