Generic Compaq desktop case that used to hold a P2 400mhz.
Gigabyte Pentium4 mobo.
Pentium 4 1.6ghz.
512mb DDR266
40gb Seagate HDD
Lifeview SD TV tuner card
Original XBox controler with JMouse driver to use it as a mouse.
Windows XP with a Litestep shell
Logitech 5.1 home theater sound system.
Acer 27" LCD TV
4x SNES controlers on USB addaptors.

This thing runs movies, small videos, and allows me to play some old Rom's brilliantly.

Leadtek DV1000T
ATI Remote
Dell 2300MP Projector
Logitech Z680s

We're moving this weeknd to a much smaller place so will probably get an LCD instead of the projector. I'd prefer this anyway, as that projector isn't that great, and needs a new bulb and an HD panel would be much nicer.

Not really, native 64bit codecs are a bit thin on the ground. No 3rd party Mpeg2 decoders (MS one is pretty ordinary) for example.

... Nothing! I don't have a HTPC. I watch movies/TV (both leeched shows and live with a TV tuner) on my main PC.

The codecs are just a program that decodes the incoming/encodes the outgoing stream of data. 32 bit codecs should be able to run in x64 just like a x86 program does, shouldn't it?

Yeah but you can't pair 32bit codecs with a 64bit program which is fine if you're just using the 32bit WMP but ehshell (VMC) is 64bit so you need 64bit codecs for it.

Don't get me wrong there are some 64bit codecs avilable but not enough.

My computer acts as a htpc, music player and my everyday for web, gaming and stuff...

it's a:
P35-DS3P
Q6600 G0 @ 3200
TRUE w/ Scythe S-Flex
8800GT
2GB generic PC6400
500 + 200 + 120 WD
500 WD e-sata that whores itself out to the PS3 as well as the Pioneer DVD / DivX player in the bedroom
Samsung 2253BW as a primary monitor (when being a normal PC)
Sony Bravia X-Series via DVI -> HDMI (extended desktop for htpc)
WinXP Pro SP2
Windows Media Center Remote
old 5.1 Logitech speakers via analogue connection
Yamaha 6130 AV Receiver + Yamaha 5.1 speakers via digital connection
Sony PS3 + PS2

Once i get a Harmony remote... trying to decide between 525 and 785... it'll be so easy even the wife and kid can use it :D

(until then it's pretty user-unfriendly... but looks and sounds pretty sweet!)
