Just got a TRUE and wondering what fan would work well with this cooler. I was looking at CM 120mm @ msy. only 10 bucks for 2000rpm @19dba, that is fairly cheap and quiet as well. any ideas?

One of Atomic mag articles tested a bunch of fans with the TRUE 120 ... and I don't think it was a CoolerMaster that came out trumps.

I think it was issue 89.

Any fan will do the job, but the best ones are the Scythe S-Flex 1600rpm fans, from Pc Case Gear.

thnkx for your advise frunji. if any fan would do i'll take my chances with CM 120mm fan. its only 10 bucks, so wouldn't hurt much even if i had to use it as a case fan instead of TRUE cooler. specs says 2000rpm @ 19dba which is quite slient.

The Scythe Ultra Kaze (2000 RPM model) won the HOT award (38mm deep)
The Scythe S-FLEX 120 SFF21FE was the best of 25mm deep fans.
The Nexus Real Silent 120mm was just behind the S-FLEX.

haha 2000RPM @ 19dba I doubt it... but try it, although my guess is it would move SFA air, or be a lot louder than 19dba...

The Scythe Ultra Kaze - 2000RPM and 32dba ...

To stay around 20dba, 1000-1500 RPM.

yea, this is what i though. but as i said it's only $10, so i'll give it a shot. if it doesn't performs well i'll use it as a case fan.

Where did my post go? Grr.. Oh oops, wrong forum XD

Yes +1 to Ultra Kaze, it is made of epic win. I recently got one, it's a tad louder at 2000rpm, but I run it through a fan controller, so it's pretty good!

is there a way of controlling these fans from windows? i don't have a fan controller as all my other fans uses molex (antec tricool). so i can't really use a fan controller there.

Sorta, but not really "any" fan. Because of the clips used to mount the fan on the heat-sink, you have to have a fan that has the space between the two holes which are in-line with each other. My silverstone fan has no gap, so there is no-where for the fan clips to clip into, so I'm using cable ties.

But yeah, any fan will do, just that you 'might' have to use some other form of mounting method.
