I'm looking for a way to pull 3V from the motherboard, whilst the computer is switched off. Is there a header or something I can hook on to ?

Why do you need 3V from the mobo? It might be easier to get a 3V battery, depending on what you want it for.

As far as I know, there aren't any headers that are live while the comp is off, except the power switch one.

The device I am running uses a battery already. I want it to last more than 3 weeks.

The +5VSB line (pin 9) on the power supply will always have +5V (used by Wake on Modem/Lan... nothing to do with the power switch). That's all you get, so you'll have to drop it down to the 3V...

yep.

dont pull it from the motherboard, pull it from the PSU. even when your PC is 'turned off' the PSU still provides some power. How else would you turn it on?
