Nope 54mbps shouldn't make much difference at all, that said i get significantly worse download speeds on my laptop suing wireless, particularly for bittorrent, compared to my desktop which is gigabit wired.

are you sure Xidus... going from 54 to 108 would be double.. wouldn't that allow for double mbps.. I'd think that would be faster..? Not sure tho as I've always just had a really good Wireless card in One Machine. and now hardwired.. so wireless is not that much of my game!

Bloody bigpond cable. Great download speed, pisspoor upload speed, counts uploads towards the bloody expensive for the amount data limits.

Not bad considering there's about 35 other people on our nets. We have 2x Business Direct ADS2+ lines and a TPG ADSL2+ hooked up through a n Astrocom aggregator/traffic manager.

My 'node Naked 2+ at home syncs at 18000/850 which is pretty close to the maximum. Gets about 56000kb/s via the 'node mirror, I'll check speedtest.net when I get home, if I remember.

the score according to speedtest:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/303364279.png
which I tend to believe is questionable, according to Bandwidth Meter Pro, which was running at the same time, I was using 14mbps
here's the score but without BTP, and my firewall, AV and everything else (except Opera) turned off

Mine changes with the time of day, but it's never what I pay for. Why are they allowed to give us less bandwidth than we pay for?

It depends on your line quality and distance from the exchange.
