OK, I kno a lot of you have really fast Rigs, or pay for the best internet around. This is a cool little test that checks your ISP speed and performance. I just thought about it.. Try it out and post ur results.. It's interesting to see others results also.. Will you post your Scores?

I'll start. Here's Mine:

I assume you're on cable over there? (given it says 'Cox Communications' and you have a 31Mbps connection)

I'm on about 3.8Mbps. Most people around here will be between 512kbps and 24Mbps since ADSL2+ is about as fast as it gets for most domestic Internet connections in .au

well, speedtest.net is fine, but it's really only testing your connection speed to their servers.

I'm waiting for Bigpond to bump the cable speed in Brisbane to 30Mbps...

Ya turn off BT when you do the test.. I'd close my internet browser also during the test..

So how can we post actual pictures here.. or can we not?

512kbit down / 128kbit up for me =)

It's pretty slow stuff but we only have ADSL one here so i chose 512kbit true unlimited. I pay $70 a month.

around 12000 kbit down and 750 kbit up
ADSL 2+ TPG

It's pretty good, and I get 150GB a month of it for only $70 =P

Lame. Doesn't seem to even be close to accurate :\. I sync @ 22.11Mbit/sec. Through torrent trackers or multithreaded FTP I can generally pull down around 2.1MB/sec and upload around 1.1MB/sec.

Ya I think it's only testing certain speeds.. like from your computer to the server or something.. not completely accurate..

It's just interesting to see others speeds and how others systems are..

And to Fat Builder, only a few peeps commented on how there speeds are at work. the rest are just people's speeds.. Whats wrong with people showing what they get at work anyways? Although they don't play or download with those speeds.. unless they don't work much.
Why it's a little eBrag.. not really what I was going for tho.. why didn't you post urs..... was it low? lol jk jk :)

I have a (possibly stupid)question concerning internet speed. We have 2 PC's connected through a 512/512 ADSL connection via a 54Mbps wireless modem/router. If only 1 PC is connected to the internet I get around 500k d/l, according to CNET broadband speed test. When we connect 2 PC's to the net we get around 270k according to the same CNET test. I know that by sharing we will get lower d/l speeds but the question is if I upgrade to a 108Mbps router/modem and 108Mbps wireless cards would the d/l speed increase/decrease or stay the same?
Is the 54Mbps modem/router causing a bottleneck or is it the ADSL connection?

Adrian
