Does anyone know if the CMI8788 oxygen hd chip is properly supported under ALSA? I'm trying to get the digital out working and all I hear is a really loud flat tone. The onboard realtek card works perfectly though.

The ALSA version I've installed is 1.0.17 and I'm using Ubuntu 8.04

I had a 8788 based Auzentech working perfectly (well almost) through linux with Alsa over a year ago.

have a play with alsamixer, I seem to remember having to unmute some unusual option in there, I had it all going out over optical (no 5.1 DTS Live or anything though :/)
