Need Recomendations for a dvb-t tuner card for mythtv

Hi
As the title stated I require a dvb-t tuner card that works 'out a the box' as I'm over having to go through the repeated process required to get my compro dvb T-300 to be semi stable in my myth box

So if anyone can recommend a dvb-t card that is recognised properly in linux without any configuration required (preferably dual tuner) and has a good tuner etc.

That'd be greatly appreciated

Single tuner only, but works perfectly in my Myth box! I think they're like $59 from MSY these days - so you can't go wrong!

EDIT: Just for clarity, it's been recognised and working out of the box for about the last 18months or so. I'm using Ubuntu on my MythBox, and it was first cleanly recognised with no kernel config in 7.04

I use the "DVico Fusion HDTV DVB-T Plus"

This works out of the box. Single-tuner only. Hardware is recognised by the kernal (ubuntu). You just have to make sure the module is loaded at boot time. This can simply be done by the following:
1. Edit the loadable modules file
sudo gedit /etc/modules
2. Add the line cx88-dvb to the end of the file
3. Save, quit & reboot

I also use a dual-tuner, but it requires some slight software hacking to get it to work - FushionHDTV dual digital 4.

Thanks heaps for the info

I ended up going for the Dvico fusion plus card (PCIe version) as it had 2 tuners (well it has four but two of those are analogue)
Wasn't too bad to get working and appears to have a stronger tuner than the compro.
The latest release of knoppmythtv (5.5) is pretty nice very simple configuration compared to previous releases.

Thanks again

DTV1000T here.

TO GET THE REMOTE WORKING:
Install the latest V4L drivers.
There are heaps of tutorials on how to do it.
Here's a good one.

Oh i got the remote to work easily enough! But due to the polling speed in the ubuntu kernel, only about 30% of keypresses on the remote were registering.
Eventual solution was to use the realtime (RT) kernel... but then v4l wouldnt compile against that, etc, etc...

O_o

What spec system is it?

I've got it running perfectly on Ubuntu 7.10 (Upgraded to 8.04), on an Athlon 1800+, Geforce 5800, 512meg RAM. No dropped buttons. Nothing. Sweet as.

This was for Ubuntu with MythTV installed on top. Frontend running on backend machine.

specs are alot better than that one! :P

It was just bad luck I think; some change in the kernel a few subversions before the one in my version of ubuntu broke it(i wasnt the only one with the problem).
Since then, they have probably changed something in the driver or the kernel which negates the problem - but it was such a hassle i vowed never to update that box!

Ahh. I was doing a "Clean install". Always makes it easier..

Linux machines are like windows machines in that regards. An update may make other things wonderful, but have the potential to break something else. It's all downhill from there and often it's just easier to say "F#$k it" and start again.
