Does anyone have a .config Linux 2.6 kernel optimised for VirtualBox they can send me?

After perusing the manual last night, I think you won't need one(.config).

Ch4.3

the guest additions seem to take care of interfacing the kernel with the win driver system.

Once you have it all setup the way you want, save state, and then you can boot into a working virtual system, no waiting for the system to boot.

Interesting, the performance is just so shoddy, Xubuntu runs slowly and Windows slows down as well.

Maybe I'll try a dfferent OS?

As I've said before, WinXP in Linux host is fine. Linux in WinXP host is not fine :P

As it turns out, it all came down to RAM.

Increased the RAM size for Xubuntu up to 1024mb and everything ran very well.
