I figure that if I'll be programming as a career, I should be fed new content constantly =) This is all I have so far.

Anyone else have anything nice?

I'm a huge fan of that one myself :P

I think I might just do what Zep did and put up my OPML too, I have about 70 different feeds/ bloggers I subscribe to totalling up to 2000 posts per week.

Just because you see 2000 headlines, doesn't mean you read every one of them (at least if you're me).

I tend to get 200-300/day, skim the full text ones and screen the others based on headline/summary. I reckon i really read maybe 10-15 posts/day. The other trick is to seriously consider whether to read the comments. very quickly you come to realise that most comments add nothing new and of value, you can read half a dozen articles and see almost identical conversations in the comments. I've gotten to the point of asking myself "is there really going to be anything here i haven't seen/read before?"

Yeah same with me Zeph, I'll just scan the vast majority of the blogs I get in. Today I scanned over around 600 posts, only read around 20.

I'm similar, I get up to about 50 posts a day, but I'll read about 30 of those. I've ruthlessly cut off most blogs that I either never read or whose purpose can be substituted by a blog I already have. To acquire 2000 posts a week only to not read them sounds silly to me.

It's the difference between buying 1 newspaper and reading most of the articles, and buying 3 and just skimming the headlines... neither is right or wrong, it just depends on what your goal is i guess.

The other thing with skimming stuff is that if something comes up in conversation i've seen a headline about, i can go back to my news reader quickly and catch up on it.

My thoughts exactly, but the only issue with that is by the time I go back to the article it's been deleted :P
