Hey people,

I am look at a site and I am very impressed by it, I want to know what technology the guy made to make it. I can clearly identify flash but the thing is it works so quickly I am starting to think there might be some Ajax in there as well?

How would I be able to tell what technologies the person has used to make the site?

PP

What makes you think it's using Ajax? You may not necessarily be able to tell ... also, if they're using any server side tech, it may be difficult to pin down exactly what they're doing (unless you h4x the site) :P

Give us the link, and we'll check it out for you ...

Why can't a programmer tell the difference between Halloween and Christmas?

Yeah, it's flash with a little bit of js. There could be some stuff happening server side though ... you could always email them and ask.

Cool site though, the book page turning effect is very well done.

agreed. Even though broadband is becoming more common pure flash sites are still a very bad idea. They end up being too static, unless you want some freakish backend for updating content.

flash should stick to small animations within a page

This really should be in the Web Design forum. I believe this thread is from the time before that existed...
