Kimmo will be back in early November.

Has that been changed to early December?

Not the sharpest tool in the shed, is he?

A good tradesman never blames his tools.

If the only tool you have is a hammer, you tend to see every problem as a nail.

Any tool is a weapon if you hold it right.

This is the REAL figure, and the one the site checks when it determines the avatar's filesize.

Size is the REAL size.

Size on disk is counting how much space it takes up in allocation due to cluster size not perfectly matching a multiple of the amount of data in the file - ie: data+wasted space.

If Atomic forums is counting 'size on disk' its another inaccuracy that needs to be added to the list of long standing problems/issues that would take a few minutes to fix, but never do get fixed.

Or at least an update to the FAQ "Make sure it's 64 x 64 pixels and is no larger than 24Kb in size ."

Change it allocated cluster size etc.

(continued)
if atomic is counting "size on disk" it's an inaccuracy as one persons machine may state a different size to person B's machine etc, which may be diff again on the server - the cluster sizes will differ from machine to machine and be different on atomic's server, some people may have 512 byte clusters, others 4096 byte clusters, etc.

Therefore 'size on disk' for the same identical file will differ from machine to machine and differ again on the server, while size (the true size/amount of data) will stay the same.

(sorry for repetition, but people need to realise this).

Maxx suggested I add it to this thread =P

Basically, it's a better way of searching the site using googles help.

If you're a tard, see Avatar. If you see a ribbon or Fist, clear your cache.

Type you title out in the post entry field. That way, the spell checker can do it's thing on the title too. When you're happy with it, just highlight it and drag it into the title field.

Thanks for the heads-up FB; I found another one and added it to the OP.

...

I thought it wasn't working cause the cursor doesn't change at the edge of text fields, but you right-click drag to resize the box, and if you want to move the box, double-click the field and its border flashes green. A left-click drag moves it, and another double click and the border flashes red and and you can use the scrollbar and highlight text again. It's pretty damn nifty.
