Trademart = wanted to buy mart

So I've noticed the increase lately in trademart, that place is slowly turning into a place where people post more threads looking for items rather then posting for sale threads.

This is kind of starting to get on my nerves because whenever I go in there looking for something someone is selling im confronted with a forum full of threads looking for shit.

trademart is for trading and I don't think WTB threads are doing it any good other then helping to just clutter it up, while I do understand WTB threads get the occasional sale I feel that they are just a waste of time and that something to slow them down needs to be done.

Like you said, Trademart is for trading . Which covers 'wanted to buy' threads, 'price check' threads and 'for sale' threads.

The average rounds expended per kill with the M16 in Vietnam was 50,000. Snipers averaged 1.3 rounds. The cost difference was $2300 v. 27 cents.

I definatly understand what you are saying, but the WTB is part of Trademart. I get disappointed that I stroll in at there is nothing to buy (well not literally, just not a "range").

What's with that? Are you saying that we should restrict people who want to buy stuff in Trademart? Without people wanting to buy stuff, there'll be no sales.

I used to sell stuff myself, but too many people had a cry about me ripping them off.

Half the reason I went to Trademart was to see who wanted stuff that I had. Then I'd usually ask them to make me a reasonable offer. Now I just give it away with free postage.

You say that you think something needs to be done about WTB threads. What, exactly, needs to be done?

What im saying is half the WTB threads are shit, that if the person making the thread could get off thier arse and be bothered to look for themselves they could find.

perhaps limit WTB threads somehow im not exactly sure but I'll try think of a way it'll never be implemented though so I may not even bother.

Well, technically they ARE getting off their arses and looking. I think it's bridge time for you.

http://www.atomicmpc.com.au/forums.asp?s=1&c=2&t=13424 <-- just to irritate Sturmgeist :-P

Markets are made up of two things:
(1) people with goods they wish to sell
(2) people with money seeking out goods

Basically what you're saying, is you're only interested in threads from people who fit into category (1).

The thread I've just posted is pretty much what msolok has mentioned. I've been stalking the eBay listings for months looking for kit so that I can document any peculiar quirks that new Linux/MIPS users should be wary of. Unfortunately, the only decent machines I've seen have either been overseas or outside my budget.

Hence I figured I'd draw on Atomic, to see if they've seen such kit. :-)

Is that a crime?
