Freakin' subscribe already Girvo!
;)

I liked the amount of preview games that were reviewed this issue. Lets me know if something is good or not before it comes out so I know what to and what not to buy by the time they hit shelves.

Mistake on P56.

It is listed that the supplier for the Scorpion Stinger is Dell when it should state Scorpion Technology Computers instead.

Also this is the best issue in a while IMO.

Did you order one?

Nope. I can build one better and cheaper. :P

Or is it... just far enough?

You know I'm tempted to actually take the pics, to blow this right out of the water so to speak.

Yeah, I live on the edge.

I want to say no, but i want to say yes...

:S

Quick question Re the Red vs Green article... where the PhysX Drivers loaded.. I did some testing with a 280 I have for a new PC and the PhysX drivers added an extra 8% in 3dMark06 and got basicly the same score as the atricle and that was with slower RAM and Slower bus (PCI-E 1 vs PCI-E 2) running an old instalation of VISTA with lots of extra services like IIS and Vitrual Server stuff... I was expecting you guys to have a much better score..

Hey Doug75, the drivers loaded were not PhysX.

Because the Radeons didn't have this, it would've skewed the results in Nvidia's favour.

As for the slower bus, the Nvidia cards don't really need a fast bus as much as the Radeons do, which is why there isn't much of a speed difference that you've noticed.

And you haven't mentioned what CPU you have either, nor what clock speed it was at :P

Thanks Frunj... I thought that would be the reason... I do agree to a point, if your comparing GPU's only then not using the PhysX is OK but if your comparing cards and when all 280's etc will have the PhysX chip then it's an important aspect to note. I guess it would have been good to also have some added notes/scores with PhysX loaded?

As for the comparison Mag v's Me... If you're not using the PhysX then you're getting significantly better than me... Which is what I would expect.. And by the way I was using a Q6600@3.0GHz therefore at least the CPU's where compariable..

Doug: There's no PhysX chip on the cards -- Nvidia implements the PhysX API on the existing graphics hardware using CUDA.

Search for it on this site, Alex Bradner's done a lot of coverage of it recently.
