Yes, a particularly enjoyable issue, although I found the curious lack of a by-line for that singularly talented chap who wrote that delightfully informative "Guide to AV Cabling" article to be a tad disturbing...

*cough*

Loved the keyboard article though.

Probably an easily forgettable fellow.

Hi to all.

I have been buying the magazine since issue 60. I have found it to be a refreshing breath of air when all the other mags seemed be have become so ho-hum. I particulary like the in depth articles that regularly feature.

I have thus far kept all the copys purchased and have subscribed so I don't accidently miss one. I regularly flick through them when researching computer gear or to re-read articles that relate to my current of the moment interest.

Hence I get to my point. I love the new subscriber edition covers. They look really really cool. But they are a pain to reorder and a glance of the cover does not readily indicate what is in them.

As a subscriber, can I go back to the newstand edition please.

While not as pretty, they do suit my purposes better.

- David.

You wrote that Fuzz? It's fantastic. Read loved and learned. I was trying to figure out who it was, thought was Ashton or Dan.

Outstanding.

Yes please!

Hmm. I'm not sure that can be easily arranged... it would complicate the mailout process quite a bit, and asking the subs house to pick and choose between cover versions per subscriber would, I am sure, add to the cost.

I'll look into it though.

That said, we do print every cover story on the subs issue, in the type along the bottom.

And Fuzz... whoops! Sorry man, next time you write for us I'll put your name in every header :)

Don't feel bad... they always miss putting my name in the contributors box too.

It's small, but it makes my Grandma real proud to see it there!. Then again, she also swells with pride every time the Allies push back the Nazis.... because of course - in her little world - we're still fighting the war, and she gets pissed at me if I don't ration my tins of spaghetti and meatballs.

It's fucking annoying, really.

Heh. I'm holding you to that David.

And actually, it didn't bother me that much. It's just that the first reaction of everyone I showed the article to was "Wow! That looks fantastic!" and the second reaction was "Where the fuck's your name? Anyone could have written that. Why are you lying to me?"

But it was a lot of fun to research and write. Which is, obviously, a blatant lie but the pictures made the article look good, so I'm happy.

WHat I imagine happened was that the standfirst - which is where we usually write the author - was written in my absence while I was in Hong Kong at the ASUS OC event, and I was probably the only one who knew who wrote it!

I picked up the issue yesterday from the newsagency. Showed my new workmates the back page :D

And loved every article I've read so far, especially the keyboard and AV cable articles.

Lots of game previews and good to see them (Even though I've played a number of them already at the conference I attended a couple of weeks ago - Force unleashed FOR THE WIN! Also look out for Fable 2, GH World Tour, Midnight Club LA and a few others too ;P)

Mistake on P56.

It is listed that the supplier for the Scorpion Stinger is Dell when it should state Scorpion Technology Computers instead.

Also this is the best issue in a while IMO.

I don't. I leave it up to David to pack the header full of awesomeness that I can't generally fathom in the space of two lines of OH HAI ARTICLE!

Crickey.

I've been writing my own since day one. Suddenly - armed with this new information - I feel all conceited and weird writing about myself in the third person.

I need to take a cleansing bath. Mineral salts, scented candles, that sort of thing.

You'll remember the soap I used. Sandlewood & Sensuality , you gave it to me last Christmas. Remember how we spent that weekend? We played Dawn of War, and laughed and laughed and laughed.

It was the best of times, and the most Orcish of times. Even as the soap you gave me for a gift erodes into little lathery bubbles of memory, I'll never forget (Gawd you take it too far sometimes! -Ed)

You know I'm tempted to actually take the pics, to blow this right out of the water so to speak.

Yeah, I live on the edge.
