Another undisclosed mag had a monitor roundup a little while bak

I think the Asus V222U and the Samsung 226BW came out on topp.

But then again, there's probably something newer out by now.

And I want my peripherals roundup!!!!!!!

Thanks colg, I did quickly check that one out. I think July is going to be an interesting month for monitors, we've already had a few new releases, sadly not too many 26"+ releases. This months issue has got a heap of products overviews in it and a good watercooling roundup. I guess reviewing tons of smaller products would be a hassle for the mag, besides some products are subjective.

Actually I kind of wish there was a monitor roundup.

I have just returned from the computer markets with a BenQ T221W. It's now sitting next to my BenQ F222W.
I gave my other 22" monitor (HannsG brand) to my mum when her 15" LCD died.

I'm tempted to go back for the other monitor. I want my triple 22" setup again!

You know morris I never really trust the tech markets with pricey gear, but I'm curious did you go back and get the other monitor, also how much are they?

No I didn't go back for the other monitor. I'll stick with two for now (not including the 9" LCD that I'm mounting in my case soon).

The BenQ cost me $275. All 22" monitors were between $260 and $310.

Thanks Morris, I have been considering the implications of running 3 monitors, for me it means saving on a large monitor but having to go get another GPU. Beside I think that's too much horizontal space for CAD. Something to consider.

lol. 26" monitors are so cool . . . .but sadly i can't afford them. oh well, i'll finish TEE someday soon . . . .:-(

and btw you might not actually want a 26" anyway if you're just gaming (though i dont know about cad), as many pros have even said they find the size of 22" monitors more comfortable

So to buy a 22" i go! time to see if i can hoard enough money to finally get rid of that 17" fishbowl . . . .

Hi Colgy, what's TEE?

I think one of the best spec'd 22" is the Viewsonic VP model, there 26" VX is a good value no frills model too. There's bit of a discussion going on the display forum on this site, might be worth a read for you.

errr . . . TEE is what us bogans from WA call your HSC (or if you're a Brit, GCSE), that is, the most annoying, stressful, and time-consuming high school course.

*(Though technically, TEE refers to the examinations, whereas HSC refers to the certification, TEE is considered the general term)

Colgy, HSC went out in 1989, since then it's been VCE, regardless of all that, best of luck in your TEE.

Ahh. jennyb is in Victoria. They have the VCE there. NSW it's the HSC. ACT it's the AST. Qld has the QCE I think. I think WA has the WACE
I think the TEE (Tertiary Entrance Exam) is a way of giving everyone a fair score no matter which test is taken.

many lulz at the number of odd abbreviations over the years.

and technically TEE is both the name for the subjects and course structure (though they are changing this to CoS), though the term itself refers to the examination method, and a (good) TER is what gets you into uni.

TEE = Tertiary Entrance Examinations

God do I remember my TEE ... 80% for Human Biology only to get scaled down 10%, I was so furious with that, but then again, 45% for Applicable Mathematics to get scaled up to 55%, sort of levelled things out for me XD. Now that I look back on it, I did not really study as hard as I should have for some of my subjects, but still got what I aimed for which was UWA.

Some tips for you Colganaitor, when reading back over your notes, NEVER skip the part that you assume to be the most insignificant and smallest part ever and do not believe they cant ask 20 marks out of it. They got that with me that in my Accounting exam, the essay was worth 20 marks and topic was the one topic which was at the very start of my revision notes that I constantly did not bother to read over because I did not think they could stretch it out to any extent, talk about an essay made out of waffles.

When you leave the examination room, DO NOT look back at your notes or revision work, just go straight to the bin with it after the exam and just continue on home, as heartbreak and further stress is not what you need for your other exams, besides, the two month wait for your TER is more than stressful enough. If the exam was hard, when you leave the examination room just laugh, it worked for me.

Good luck with it all.

I doubt it will happen, but I'd like to see a mousepad roundup. Not huge, maybe just a page or something. I reckon most people over look mousepads (but a good one, can make as much difference as a new mouse. IMO).

Jias I have a razer copperhead mouse on a razer mantis control mat and its pretty good. I'm not a gamer but I use CAD all day and have to always click tiny points on the screen. The pointer doesn't move one iota and the mat isn't cold to put your hand on like some of those aluminium things, it is a rather large mat and maybe gamers need large mats, this thing I could cut into 2 mats no problems. As for the mouse the quality and feel of it is great but the 4 buttons on the side aren't ergonomically place at all, there's only one button you can get to quickly. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the advice JennyB, I actually am using a RazorExactmat with a G9. Switching between speed side (for Gaming) and Control Side with lower sensitivity on my G9 (for desktop work). I find the hand rest is awesome for me personally, as I put my sensitivity all the way up for gaming. Thus I do most of my mouse movement with my wrist as I rotate my hand around in circles.
