Subscription delivery timing

Hey folks, I'm curious to know if subscribers are getting their magazines in a timely fashion.

In theory, subs should arrive as early as the Friday before onsale, and certainly no later than onsale itself. That said, I know there are some issues at the moment, and it would really help to know how it's actually working out.

So, if you're mag is reguarly late, let me know about it in this thread. If there's a major, widespread problem, we need to know about it before we can fix it :)

I generally get it the day it appears on the website or the day before. I live in the inner suburbs of Melbourne, if that helps.

Mine arrived on Tuesday (day before the wednesday release)
Canberra.

Back in the day it was arriving late, but lately the service has been fine. If I remember correctly distribution came from Melbourne, so it should arrive on Melbourne doorsteps first. In theory.

I'm not sure if the idiot postie (and no that isn't a nasty comment, it's fact) has been yet, but I've been a subscriber for all but about 5 issues, and in that time, I've had maybe 10 arrive on the same day as news agents or earlier.

The last 6 or so issues have arrived anywhere from the day after news agents/on the website to the following Monday, which is annoying, but considering it's the time frame that most arrive in, I'm used to it.

And it's not like I'm the middle of nowhere, I'm a 10 minute bicycle ride (tops) away from the main mail centre here in Hobart.

Edit: It did arrive today, about 10 minutes after I first posted this (yay) just a shame that idiot folded the magazine AGAIN. Never mind the fact that I've showed him the magazine sized slot on the side of the letter box MULTIPLE times.

I got mine on Monday, in a very timely fashion. That said, I'm in Hornsby, NSW, so it's pretty close to a large centre for postal duties.

I haven't had a mag late yet, out of the 6 or 7 that I have had lately :)

I live in New Zealand in Christchurch and and have been finding my subscription always turns up late and normaly a week or longer after I see it on the shelf at the supermarket, like right now the latest one is out and I still haven't got it! Yet my local supermarket has it on the shelf :(

I have rung the NZ 0800 number about this and they just tell me this is the way it is which I find hard to understand when my local supermarket has it and I thought a benefit of subscribing was also to have it at the same time it hits the shelf’s (and save some money).

It makes me wonder if I should pay for the subscription just to get it late? :-?

It's consistently arrived late here in Perth until the current issue, when it beat the newsie by a considerable margin.

Keep up whatever you did this month!

Thanks to Mr Hollingworth (that's what he makes us all call him - goes with the executive chair and special pants) for creating this thread. All interesting information for yours truly.
Firstly, NZ subs are distributed independantly in that country. i.e we send a bunch of mags over and they are dispatched by our distributor. This does not explain the delay, so i will look into that. c0nc0n are you saying you rang and spoke to G & G? when was that and when did they say it would arrive?
I am also really interested in subscribers from outside Metro areas and the East coast. So if you live anywhere outside Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, please let me know about your experiences. Thanks to those who have already.
Cheers,
Phil
