Anyone know, or even heard about it?

Have you ever read any Gibson?

One of his books has something VERY similiar, an organisation that does favours.. you'll get asked to do something for somebody, and later on, you'll get something in return..all completely anonymous.

That sounds cool.

To me it sounds like those online games. You know, how you get letters, phone calls, emails and have to do various challenges and stuff.

It weird though, the website says nothing at all. Just a registration page. Nothing else about what it does or anything.

You'd have to have guts to sign up for that without knowing anything about it.

I'd say that's the first challenge, hectorbustnuts. To be able to give your trust like that.

I agree, but what are you putting your trust in?

I guess that it'll show you just how far you're willing to push yourself, blind trust being the first, then pushing your moral boundaries with each progressive task.

It sounds like a perverse game, but one I'm terribly intrigued by. I'm almost wanting to sign up.

"the threat of grave consequences should these tasks not be carried out." is a little disturbing though.

Haven't read the article yet, sounds reminiscent of Majestic , though. They cancelled it after 11/9/01 out of respect for the victims.

Neurocam.

Stupid. Dangerous. Inviting.

What more attractive mix is there for a person feeling even the tiniest shard of boredom?

A craving for mystery or the unknown.

Neurocam is nothing more than a loosely interpreted 'organisation' that facilitates the human need for stupid dangerous inviting things. Just like hookers are there for no-strings sex, and McDonalds is there to give us food, fast.

There's probably no real 'power' behind Neurocam or any of it's "operatives" other than a percieved sense of power that comes from any group or organisation that shrouds itself in mystery...We, as the potential customers of this strange endeavour help to create that sense of power through our own perceptions.

That makes it nice and easy for Neurocam. All they have to do is wear masks and send creepy emails. Your mind will fill in the blanks. Maybe that's the idea - maybe that's the test. You'll play the neurocam game, while 'they' are busy trying to understand exactly how far they can mind fuck human perception..

How far will we go?

How far will we think?

How far will we feel?

It really is true - who doesn't love a good mystery?

The Robert Henley torture tape is - a little concerning. I don't know how legitimate it is, but if it's real, then the dangerous aspect is certainly there. Then again, it could just be another well done mind fuck.

God knows there's enough of them in the world today...

I don't know how they're going to do "background checks" on me, considering I emailed them from a remote shell using an addy that I'll only check from said shell and the domain of which I don't own.

Edit: The email came from a Vic Bigpond account.
