True in all cases except Mononoke - the dub of it was remarkably well done...

this one is more for kids though. not to say I didn't like it, but I think that has more to do with me having the mind of a 6 year old.

I love that movie so dam much! Sadly, SBS will only play the English dub and kill the true vibe in the process.

Don't watch it till you have the DVD with subtitle options.

anyone who watches anime with dubs is losing all the cinematic goodness of the original audio.

While we're on ghibli... Howl's Moving Castle was quite good, I've yet to watch the older ones, will do so soon.

Also not ghibli, but I recommend Escaflowne

Was definitely good; I saw it the first time with the dub, but still prefer original soundtrack + subs.

+1 Athiril - Escaflowne's great; saw it at Japanime festival back in like 2002 or something I think it was, at Dendy Circular Quay... I watched more anime that week than any other in my life hahah. Had the premiere of Spirited Away which is still my favourite Ghibli I think. My mate and I were there with jaws on the floor and goosebumps when it finished...

Howl's Moving Castle was ok, but it didn't totally captivate me like Spirited Away did; that movie just had such a power to remind you of the fantasy of childhood; fricken love that movie...
