18?

Let me state this explicitly.

No way. No how. Have you in any way.In any way Run out of options for your life.

Start now. Get the few requirements you need to get started on your Dip Ed. Don't feel like making major changes to your life right now? Do it part time. It'll take a little while, but do you really think so little of yourself that you can't trust that you will still have passion at 22 or 23?

Reading your post, It felt like a 50 year old suddenly realising that it's not going to get any better. 18? 7 out of 10 (WARNING: Numbers Flying Out Of Butt) forum members would kill and dismember at least one family member to have the same time and choices you have now.

The single, solitary worst thing that can happen is that you find your passion evaporates before you are done. And considering you've wanted this for as long as you can remember, that's not a very likely outcome, is it? :)

This was sort of meant to be inspirational, but it sounds like a disparaging lecture. Sorry. Screw that Carpal diet crap. I hated that movie. Go forth young future educator. Settler down to a life of contented quiet mediocrity as a mild mannered history teacher. Or fix pools.

You've got time to make the right choice.

motivation? I visualise my goal. Seems like a good place to be, so I work for it. My motivation is my imagination of how my goal would value add to my life :)

Iv been working there for the last couple of years now, i used QTAC to try and enrol in teaching but i was denyed entry into ALOT of places.

I suggest rocking up to the Uni/tertiary education institution of your choice and asking who you can talk to about getting in. You may need to do a TAFE course, or a Y12 equivalence.

Your right it does sound like a lecture...but it was still inspirational. Im at tafe doing a Adult Teritary Preperation course, apparntly it gives me a rank order which i can again use to get into uni. I dont know if its the same as Dip.Ed. Iv got the score needed for the double degree in history and teaching that i want to do, i have a rough idea on what the score needed to get into the course is.

Mild mannered...now i woudlnt be here if i was anything more :P

Never too old for career change.

I'm not 'ancient' or whatever. I'm only approaching middle age from the young side. (30..)

I'm handing in my resignation this week. (From a 'cushy' public service job)

I've got 2 jobs more or less lined up.

1 certain.

AV tech. Doing professional grade AV stuff. (Video conferencing. Response centres etc)

2nd maybe (This is a 'in case the AV tech positions sucks')
Apprentice linesman.

Now a 30yr old doing an apprenticeship is quite a change. I hope you'll agree.. But sometimes you just need to face up and do what needs to be done.

Change before you stagnate.

21yo, i believe =)

I got a shit UAI of 47.75, Bachelor of Nursing requires at least 66+ I started uni when i was 22yo.

Dude, you're only 18yo, no way have you lost in life yet, there's dozens of options and routes you can take in life, plenty lead to teaching & education.

Edit: Sounds like you're already on the road to it if you're doing a related course in TAFE at the moment, stick with it! =)

Usually failure = success.

Never disbelieve in yourself, always stand straight, never give up and try your absolute hardest to complete the goal. No matter what it takes, always feel confident in yourself, it is very surprising what you can do if you try.
