So, if they allowed you, as you, to vote for the next USA President, right now, who would you vote for?

To be more specific, forgetting all of USA's domestic issues, who do you think will have a more positive impact on the international stage in general, and Australia specifically?

Two totally different and unrelated questions there, but I'll answer them anyway.

McCain.
Obama.

Palin/Mccain scares the holy hell out of me, the world would go even further backwards with them in power.

Interesting 1shot - I never thought they would be different answers.

Why are they different for you?

Why would I vote for someone who won't be president for long?

OK - now I'm really curious

You mean McCain cause he'll die of a heart attack in a week, or Obama because he'll be assasinated by some white supremacist?

Well, I said I'd vote Republican, so I guess that means that I wouldn't be voting for Obama.

McCain isn't actively evil - just a stooge for his party. Palin, otoh, is the left hand of Satan. ;P

Not that fond of the other camp either, but they seem like the lesser of two weevils to me, atm.

Early days, but a 16-2 spread in the vote is pretty remarkable.

Then again, they say Democrats vote early :P

How many other people ahve looked at the results for the poll, seen the huge lead that Obama has and thought "Damn, looks lik McCain's going to win [the real election]."

(I picked Obama, because McCain and Palin seem far too fundamentalist/stupid/redneck for my liking.)

Pretty much the same with me.
I think he's also a bit retarded in some areas, but hopefully will have a much more level head than his predecessor.

Did you compare the poll to the posts in the thread? I didn't vote in the poll.

Unsure.

Before the addition of Palin, I'd probably have said McCain, he actually seems like a sane Republican who thinks for himself and doesn't follow the neo-con breed into disaster after disaster. But McCain's age means that the US risks Palin winding up in charge and I have no wish to see that.

I find it hard enough to drag myself to compulsory Australian elections and am so exhursted from all the wading through political Spam from the Australian Bi-elections and NSW government problems that I wouldn't have a clue who I would want in, so if in the USA I don't think I'd be voting, let alone donating monies to two year campaign trails, and that is before they get close to the oval office!

Makes me wonder who would actually care less about Aussie elections if we didn't have to vote...

But it is neat that they are finally getting over some of there colour prejudices for Obama...
