Spring has made its presence felt

The weather here has been warming up slowly over the past few weeks, with a couple of lovely spring days thrown in every now and then... lovely sunshine, all the wild flowers are showing off their beautiful colours, little bit of a breeze...
and bringing in the hayfever... had my first day today... snuffly nose, blocked sinuses, itchy eyes, headaches... anyone else suffer from it? What's the main cause or is it just general?

My sneeze starters are Dandelions until haycarting or harvest starts...and then I'm in for a really bad time.

I have been known to get a touch of it, but it's not a usual occurrance. Not anymore, anyway. I used to get it quite badly for a short window, while the barley-grass went off.

Gah, I get hayfever really badly. I suffer constantly in the springtime. I've not found anything that works, yet, to even lessen the effects, much less block them even for a little while.

Only really mean people try and get me to socialise in the warmer months. Not only can I not handle heat, but I get all the benefits of hayfever, meaning I'm generally very miserable anywhere.

Allergic to this world, bloody stupid. brb, finding another world...

Doesn't feel like spring here yet, which is odd for a state that tends to skip winter altogether. I finally move into one of those big airy Queenslanders and suddenly Winter looks set to hang about for an extra month.

On the plus side, no hay fever yet. Although now I spend almost all of my time in urban areas, I doubt this year is going to be much of a problem.

Whats Hayfever ?

Seriously though.. I love driving my truck past fields of Rape seed. Lovely smell although my missus suffers badly from that scenario.

What's hayfever... you lucky lucky bastard...

rapeseed... (aka Canola) doesn't bother me too much)

but dandelion, hay, oats, and harvesting dust drive me insane with itching and snuffling. The little pink bits in the inside corner of my eyes swell up and can get so bad they cover half of my pupil...makes it hard to do much, especially when you're sneezing every five seconds.

Nope, can't say I do, but many around the place have started sneezing all over the place - not exactly good infection control practice...

Have never had it really, but have lived all my life with people that do.... Trying to explain to an all-night pharmacist that I need some Teldane but no, it is not for me, has been interesting a few times :)

Cheers
