A climate of fear

Do phone boxes still exit anymore? Haven't seen one in ages?

That said, pollies are all the same in the end. Some start off with good intentions, but politics seems to be all about compromise, so good intentions amount to fuck all in the end.

And, let's face it, it's WA. Being under +100meters of water would be an improvement.

:-P

:)

Of course the rest of Australia would then go bankrupt in the absence of the wealth of WA.....

Hmm, haven't seen any phone boxes in WA now you mention it, they must all be under water :) They are still around some places though.

Cheers

Well it depends on whether they are representing this as reality or whether its a play on the whole situation. My guess is that its a clever play on the line "you'll wet yourself" and an exaggeration on the expected rise is sea levels. As such its a VERY clever way to get a message across with one image on a poster which will be seen for a few seconds.

As for over the top reactions that so and so Leo has them in the bag with this thread and those "Oh look everything's cold where's all your global warming" stuff :p

That said I don't thing the Greens are a viable party for many other reasons.

:)

Amuses the hell out of me actually, the Greens have been as bad as the others in bombarding WA with mail to get some votes for the state election.

Reminds me of that conference a couple of years ago on deforestation where it was worked out after that they had generated enough paperwork to have required cutting down several acres of trees.....:)

Cheers

the greens aren't even a real political party, they're who most people throw their protest votes to.

'screw the libs, screw labor, i'm throwing my vote to the most radical party i can find without knowing what they actually stand for.'

Reminds me of the election where a friend of mind owned an import business. He wanted to vote greens cause he hated rudd and didn't like costello.

Then i emailed him a link to the greens said where it stated that the greens favoured higher import taxes and decreased participation in world markets.

He ended up voting democrat after reading their policies

I for one will begin preparing a flotilla- nay, armada- of seafaring vessels in preparation to take my place as Grand Admiral of Perth.

Also, I will probably be donkey-voting the WA States. I don't really care who wins, I don't like any of the parties. They're all equally jokes.

Perth's two tallest buildings peak at around 200m.

That's more than 150m the GreenWanker Party have submerged.

By my calculations, based on the IPCC midpoint, that kind of sea level rise will take 51,724 years.

Twits.

I have to agree. That kind of advertising is fucking stupid. People need to be alert, but not necessarily alarmed. Especially with needless advertisements pushing bullshit uphill.

Agreed. We need to spend $50m on a public awareness campaign involving leaflets and fridge magnets.

At least its theoretically possible for Aussies and Australia to suffer a terror attack.

We're being asked to be alert about our future fifty thousand years from now?

I'm sorry, but I wasn't planning on sticking round that long...
