What is that? Natural light? How I miss thee!

At least that is what I will be saying in a couple of weeks.

My schedule looks like this;

This week, fairly quiet, not alot going on, just work and sleep.

This weekend, Going to Newcastle to see family and a mate or two.

As of next week though, I will be working 7am to 10pm+ for about 2 or so weeks, plust the odd 48 hour weekend shift.

I will not see natural light for many hours at a time, will not see mates, family or even random strangers for a while and think I will probably become disengaged and begin to alienate people more than usual.

But at least I will be on atomic. :P

This brings me to the main reason for the post, is it worth losing 30+ hours of social interaction per week for a month or so to make extra $$$ to socialise when you have freedom?

Actually that 6th option should go "Cha Ching" if you are earning extra dosh :P

We all have to make sacrifices... go with it mate. Your mates will still be there afterwards and so will the social life. :D

No.

I gave that shit up...

I'm happy to be poor and train during the day again.

you get soooo fucking depressed... My imaginary friends and bottles of scotch went into overdrive.

I warned my mate about this too... but he didn't listen n tried to pull a heath ledger impersonation...

That was a wake up call about society and priorities.

Depends on your priorities. Do you need the money? Do you want to use it for something worthwhile? A little bit of extra work isn't going to kill you and extra resources are always handy. Friendships at least good ones aren't strained by a 2 week absence. I have worked many long days and not seen people for weeks or months and it doesn't seem to affect the dynamic but again that isn't always the case for people.

The matter is do you really need/want the money? If not why bother if you place a significant value on your social time?

Well, it means about an extra 800+ per fortnight, and means I can afford to have an awesome time out with mates once I finish.

I think I will just do it and if it gets shit, will see about rescheduling some of the work.

But I do have to roll out 300 PCs 30 Laptops and 20+ servers, so it will be fun, educational and will give me fat stacks of loot.

Yes. it's not just ab out socialising really, but what else you can do with the money. I'd happily work the extra hours if it meant I could save more for future use.

Technically, aids does not actually kill them... Cannot see being tossed to a island in an aids "leprosy" colony would make any of them very happy no matter how quickly they will pass away...

Not so much making, just plugging in and placing on desks and mass installing OS's.

I would love to give everyone a laptop or PC, but unfortunately, it just isn't in the cards.

What application are you going to use to mass install?

Probably Symantec ghost over the network, but as the only floppy drives we have are about 4 USB ones, we will either have to use CDs or do them 4 at a time.

Why?

Do you have an awesome idea?

If you do, share it!

Depends how long you will be doing it for, personally I'd be fine doing it for a short time to make some extra cash, but fuck doing it long term.
