Do you care about postcount?

This is a simple POLL and since you're answering anonymously, you can answer honestly.

Do you - deep down - care about the size of your post count? In life, we regularly go to great lengths at times in defining who we are. We don expensive brand names, style the hair on our heads and unless we're eating pizza, we try not eat with our hands. So it makes sense that some of us, on some level, do care about our postcounts and how others will perceive us based on them.

Personally, I don't like to display an excessively high post count. I feel that it reflects poorly on my abhorrent prioritizing in life. Every new account for me is akin to a botox injection... under this seemingly new account right now is a wrinkly, old atomican. So I've answered 'yes'.

That's all

Lmfao Foods.

I don't think it's a Yes/No question. I do "care", but not a whole lot.

Just as I care about watching my odometer, but not a whole lot.

I think it's stupid.

Do you walk around IRL not talking because you don't want your 'sentence count' to be excessive and have people think you somehow have nothing meaningful to say?

No.

Just because you say one word per day, it doesn't make it somehow magically profound and universe shattering.

=O who ARE you really Scratch??

I'd imagine as time goes on the more important number to alot of atomicans is the user's ID number. I used to post upwards of 50 times a day back in 03/04...much less these days, i'm posting alot tonight because i'm still "avoiding" this essay i'm trying to finish so that i can sleeeeeep...almost half done! thank fuck!

But yeah, i'm sure i'll have a little celebration when i get to 10,000 (in like 5 years lol!) 5000 was good, i figured i would finally get a little more recognition for my contribution to General Chat life xP

Driving 5k km a year or driving 50k km a year doesn't really make a difference either, but people still pay attention to it and "care" about it.

I find it interesting to know how much I post, just as I find it interesting to know how much I drive. It doesnt define me, nor my activities, in the slightest - it simply is a mildly interesting statistic.

Someone who talks too much might talk less after being told that they're a motor mouth. People are naturally image conscious. We all are, on some level.. some more than others, some in entirely different ways to others.

Think how obsessed a typical politician is with image. What they don't say is just as important as what they do say.

I don't really think about it, to be honest.

There are people with a low postcount who make every word gold, and people with a high postcount who do little other than be snide and spout garbage. It's always been about the quality of the person to me, not the postcount.

That said, I did take the opportunity of turning Immortal to drunkenly tell everyone how awesome I thought they were, but that was more of an excuse than an actual 'I posted 10000 posts, bow down before my iWang of Godlike Power' deal.

Just as it's the quality of a persons driving, and not the amount of a persons driving.

Nothing wrong with not caring about post count, it does irk me when people are the polar opposite of people who care too much about their post count and try to tell others they shouldn't care at all :P

More like who am I not. :)

I guess a better question would be 'how much do you care about your post count?' Maybe with a scale of 1-5. I would make a new thread, but it'd just go straight to the hips!

Couldn't give a toss about the postcount.

Actually, if anything, I tend to regard those with really high postcounts (or ranks, more likely) with a little suspicion until I'm familiar with them. It just means they 'talk' a lot - not that they have anything intelligent to say.

Not really, I don't think I made a titan thread iirc.

I wouldn't care if post counts were removed all together, it's not a pivotal part of atomic for me.

oh wait, MY postcount....

no i dont give a shit what mine is.

I care what other peoples are though.

eg. how long they've been around based on how polite they're being.

If i know someones been around titan or immortal long, they can get away with harsh jokes to me.

if its a serf, i'll likely rear up, as i dont 'know this person'
